About the title of our conference:
"Justicia Discapacidad en Nuestra Comunidad" (Disability Justice in Our Community) references the Disability Justice Movement that was started with ten guiding principles by the performance project Sins Invalid.
The National Coalition for Latinxs with Disabilities (CNLD) worked with members of Sins Invalid including Patty Berne, Maria Palacios, Sofia Webster, and G Gomez to come up with a Spanish translation of "Disability Justice" that best captured its meaning. We all agreed on "Justicia Discapacidad".
