The National Coalition for Latinxs with Disabilities (CNLD) will be hosting it's first virtual symposium that will include several sessions spread out over the course of several weeks during the Summer of 2025. This symposium will be in lieu of an in-person conference.
The CNLD Symposium will be a space to uplift, be in solidarity with, share and celebrate the disabled Latinx community and their allies. While we welcome members of academia, it is important to emphasize that the CNLD Symposium will not be solely academic - while we do have an academic tract, it is not the focus of the events.
Our conferences are attended by disabled Latinxs with varied impairments, educational backgrounds, nationalities, races, socioeconomic statuses, gender identities, and sexual orientations as well as having elected officials, policy makers, government staff, students, and other allies in attendance. Though we welcome allies, advocates, parents and siblings, we intentionally and unapologetically center the lived experiences of disabled Latinx community.
At this time, we preparing to open our Call for Proposals. More details to come!
